WebHolism has been created by two passionate people who are driven by the goal to help reduce their global impact and assisting others to do likewise (in slow but gradual steps where necessary), and with the desire to ensure that quality is not compromised in achieving this goal.
Jason has been an organic vegan for the majority of his life. He walks, runs and cycles wherever he can in a desperate attempt to be car and petrol free, and is an advocate for fitness and health.
Sara is also an organic foodie and a keen "reduce, reuse, recycle" enthusiast. She keeps a watchful eye on the miles that food has travelled, and loathes throwing anything away when it can be repaired or turned into something else. In her spare time, she writes for the prestigious OS Training, is a Team Leader for the official Joomla Certification Program, and contributes to Joomla and WordPress help forums.
Because we are very conscious of our impact on this beautiful planet, we stick to purely organic, ethical and eco-friendly, low mileage products where ever possible.
We are advocates (and we hope catalysts) for changing perceptions from mean to green. The current snapshot of our global impact suggests that unless we do something, we (in our generation) are all going to find life around the globe changing, often in undesirable ways.
IT is now the third largest contributing factor to carbon emissions in the UK. The average datacentre (place where websites and data are stored) consumes the same amount of energy as 25,000 homes, and datacentres as a whole were responsible for more than 3% of the UK's total energy consumption as far back as 2002.
The scientists calculate that all sorts of undesirable conditions come from the use of untold numbers of modern chemicals, but stepping away from that into an everyday world we can see that human impact is taking a heavy toll. Deforestation, pollution, human and animal welfare, and social inequality, to name but a few.
WebHolism can help by giving choice back, and allowing people to step forward positively and say "YES!" to a better tomorrow, without having to compromise quality of service. It makes us feel good to be a part of that! Making the ethical, green and eco-friendly choice no longer means having to make a sacrifice.
Go ethical and feel fabulous, knowing that your decision brings us all one step closer to a more beautiful planet. Thank you.
We're already a carbon neutral company and green business that uses a green energy company to power our electrical knick knacks, but we don't want to rest on our laurels. We are always looking for new ways to have a more positive effect on the planet, and currently carbon offset through tree planting with the Woodland Trust. We reduce our petrol dependency by swapping our darling little energy-efficient "mhd" Smart car for pushbikes, walking and public transport for the majority of our journeys. We also bank entirely with ethical financial institutions that do not promote suffering and environmental damage.
